The EPA Portable Alert System, also known as EMA – Mobile Alert System, is a mobile solution designed to rapidly alert and inform the population in the event of danger or an emergency situation.

Compact, portable, and quick to deploy, it combines a 112 dB siren, light signaling, a loudspeaker, a microphone, and a system for broadcasting recorded messages.

It is particularly suitable for town halls, municipalities, local authorities, technical services, industrial sites, campsites, and establishments that need a mobile means of broadcasting alerts.

Thanks to its magnetic attachment and direct power supply from the vehicle, the EPA can be installed quickly, without permanent modification to the vehicle.

A mobile and rapidly deployable solution

The EPA is designed to be transported in a vehicle and then put into service quickly when a situation requires warning or informing the population.

The loudspeaker and its light signaling are positioned on the vehicle using a magnetic base.

The control unit remains accessible inside the vehicle, allowing for operation of the siren, selection of recorded messages, and use of the microphone.

No fixed installation is required.

The equipment can thus be used temporarily on different compatible vehicles as needed.

Siren, microphone, and recorded messages

The Portable Alert System combines several functions:

  • 112 dB siren;

  • orange or blue light signaling, depending on the version;

  • flashing or rotating signal;

  • external loudspeaker with magnetic attachment;

  • microphone;

  • Public Address function;

  • up to 3 recordable voice messages;

  • message storage on Micro SD card.

The system thus allows for the broadcasting of an alert tone, a pre-prepared message, or an announcement made directly by the operator.

3 pre-recorded messages

The EPA allows up to 3 voice messages to be recorded on a Micro SD card.

They can be prepared for different situations:

  • evacuation;

  • taking shelter;

  • flooding;

  • fire;

  • industrial risk;

  • weather event;

  • closing of an area;

  • safety instructions;

  • information intended for the population.

The Public Address function also allows you to speak directly into the microphone when a message needs to be broadcast immediately.

National Alert Signal

Several versions are equipped with the National Alert Signal (SNA) tone.

The versions concerned are:

  • EPA Blue Flashing SNA – ref. 28874;

  • EPA Orange Flashing SNA – ref. 27780;

  • EPA Orange Rotating SNA – ref. 31217.

The system also allows for the broadcasting of the all-clear signal and other tones depending on the chosen configuration.

Vehicle installation

The EPA does not require permanent vehicle modification.

The external device is attached via a magnetic base and the various elements are connected using the provided cords.

Power is supplied directly from the vehicle.

The unit can then be dismantled and stored in its case after use.

Regulations

The use of certain blue light signaling and certain sound tones is regulated.

The technical homologation of the equipment does not in itself constitute an authorization to use it on any vehicle.

It is the user's responsibility to select a configuration compatible with their activity and the applicable regulatory framework.

Non, l’EPA est conçu pour une utilisation sans montage permanent. Le haut-parleur dispose d’une fixation magnétique et l’alimentation se raccorde à la prise du véhicule. Le support doit être compatible avec la fixation et la mise en place doit respecter les instructions du matériel.

Peut-on partager le même EPA entre plusieurs véhicules ?

Oui. Son format transportable permet de déplacer l’ensemble d’un véhicule à un autre, à condition de disposer d’une alimentation et d’un support de fixation adaptés. La valise permet de regrouper les éléments entre deux utilisations.

L’EPA fonctionne-t-il sur une alimentation 12 V ou 24 V ?

La plage de fonctionnement est de 10 à 30 V en courant continu, ce qui couvre les alimentations véhicule 12 V et 24 V. La consommation maximale annoncée est de 6 A sous 12 V ou 3 A sous 24 V. L’alimentation comporte une protection par fusible de 10 A.

Comment diffuser une consigne en direct ?

Le microphone intégré au boîtier permet de parler directement au public grâce à la fonction Public Address. L’opérateur peut ainsi adapter son annonce à la situation, sans préparer un enregistrement. Le volume se règle depuis le boîtier de commande.

Peut-on préparer plusieurs annonces à l’avance ?

Oui, l’EPA permet d’enregistrer jusqu’à trois messages vocaux sur carte Micro SD. L’opérateur choisit ensuite l’annonce à diffuser depuis le contrôleur. Cette fonction facilite la préparation de consignes récurrentes pour une opération ou un exercice.

Quel niveau sonore offre la sirène ?

Le niveau sonore annoncé est de 112 dB. Cette valeur ne définit pas à elle seule une distance d’audibilité : le bruit ambiant, les obstacles et les conditions du terrain influencent la perception du signal et la compréhension des messages.

Quelles combinaisons de feux et de sirènes sont proposées ?

Quatre configurations permettent de répondre à différents besoins :

  • Bleu à éclats avec tonalité SNA.
  • Orange à éclats avec tonalité SNA.
  • Orange rotatif avec tonalité SNA.
  • Bleu rotatif avec tonalité Police.

À quoi correspond la tonalité SNA ?

SNA signifie Signal National d’Alerte. Les configurations correspondantes permettent de diffuser ce signal ainsi que le signal de fin d’alerte. Ces tonalités sont distinctes des messages vocaux personnalisés et ne sont pas modifiables par l’utilisateur.

Comment choisir entre une version bleue et une version orange ?

Ce choix doit tenir compte du service utilisateur, du véhicule et de la mission. La signalisation bleue et les tonalités spécifiques sont soumises à des conditions d’emploi : l’achat du matériel ne constitue pas une autorisation d’utilisation. Quel est l’encombrement de l’ensemble rangé ?

La valise équipée mesure 32 × 23 × 15,5 cm, pour un poids d’environ 4,10 kg. Le haut-parleur magnétique mesure quant à lui 18 × 13 × 21 cm et pèse environ 1,14 kg.

Quelle longueur offrent les cordons de raccordement ?

Les cordons spiralés mesurent environ 0,5 m au repos et peuvent atteindre 3 m déployés. Ils permettent de répartir les éléments autour du poste d’utilisation tout en limitant l’encombrement lors du rangement.

Un arrêt automatique est-il prévu ?

Oui, l’EPA dispose d’un arrêt automatique après trois heures d’inactivité. Cette durée correspond à une fonction d’arrêt et non à une autonomie sur batterie : l’ensemble utilise l’alimentation du véhicule.
